First of all, thank you for the incredible messages and comments from yesterday’s brutally honest Motivational Monday post. I was especially touched by the personal emails – I really do have the greatest support system, and I’m excited for all of us to continue our incredible journeys together.
Spring Break so far has been phenomenal, and I’ve spent most of the past few days creating in the kitchen (I’ve got some awesome recipes to post!). But today’s post actually isn’t about yummy food, it’s about the jewelry I’ve made in the past few weeks .
I’m actually heading into town soon to drop off the creations I’ve made for my friend Danielle who is getting married soon. She saw my jewelry at the Maui United Way Gala and asked if I’d be open to creating pieces for those in her bridal party. (Of course!). Her colors were sage and brown (which were coincidentally the same colors of my own wedding!) and each piece was made especially with her wedding day in mind.
I just have to say that I am in love with all of these pieces – the love totally came through – and I am so excited to be taking them to Danielle today! Her wedding is in a few short weeks, but I figured it would be okay to post the pieces online now, since her bridal party probably won’t read my blog until after they receive their gifts .
They’re all going to different people, so no two are exactly identical. I figure Danielle will feel out which piece match specific people.
[Apo – with shells and olive briolette gemstones]
[Apo – with fresh water pearls + Swarovski crystals] + [Laina – with gemstones, fresh water pearls, Swarovski crystals, and seashells]
[Laina – with gemstones + Swarovski crystals]
[Two slightly different Double-Dutch – with Swarovski crystals]
I lined them all up and put my personal touches on them…
And then I wrapped them up nicely.
Now it’s time to take them to their homes .
Creation is so powerful, and I truly feel like these pieces were meant for Danielle’s wedding! I haven’t had much time to make jewelry lately, but I’m looking forward to having more time on my hands soon so that I can give you all more tutorials on the basics of jewelry-making (like basic wire-wrapping!). If there’s something in particular you’d like to learn, please let me know! I’m still a novice, but I’m more than happy to offer whatever I do know!
These pieces were custom made for a friend of mine. If you are interested in ordering custom jewelry from Ho`omaika`i Jewelry, please let me know.
