Baby and Mama Green Drinks

This seven month old had a play date last week!

[The boy is in love.]

We had four little friends come over to sit and laugh and talk with us.  It was wonderful!  But I think the combination of being in the everything-goes-in-the-mouth stage and missing our nap left us both feeling a bit under the weather for a few days.

Isaac got his first little cough and was pretty clingy, but luckily [I’m still knocking on wood] didn’t have any other symptoms.

In order to help boost our immunity, I made a quick green drink for both of us.  It was gone in no time, as were our symptoms.  Smile

Blend together the following [ingredients].

  • 12-16 oz coconut water [we use it straight from the nut – canned would probably be too sweet]/regular water
  • half an apple – cored and peeled
  • half a pear – cored and peeled
  • two big handfuls of spinach [about 2 cups worth]

Then add a scoop of whey protein to Mama’s!

[Notes]:

I use a high-speed blender [a Blendtec/Vitamix] which pulverizes everything to make a thick juice, but you could use a regular blender and strain it if the pulp is too thick for the babe.

— If possible, use only organic fruits/veggies for your little one!

Aloha Pumehana.
